سلول های یک سمت مغز رخ می دهد.

گاباپنتین با کاهش جریان الکتریکی غیر طبیعی سلول های مغزی به تنهایی یا همراه با
سایر داروهای ضد صرع جهت کاهش حملات تشنج استفاده
می شود.
گاباپنتین همچنین در درمان دردهای مزمن ناشی از آسیب عصبی نیز
تجویز می شود .
این نوع درد که به درد نوروپاتیک معروف است می تواند علل مختلفی
مانند دیابت و یا زونا داشته باشد.
علاوه بر اینها گاباپنتین برای جلوگیری
از حملات میگرن نیز تجویز می گردد.
